Joel Jeske as a director and consultant has created and developed a large and diverse collection of live events and theater shows. He has developed shows and material for Cirque Du Soleil, Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey, Big Apple Circus, and multiple corporate clients including Pepsi, Bloomberg Financial, and Proctor and Gamble. Recently, Joel was brought in as a physical comedy consultant for Viacom and Nickelodeon to work on their future projects including SPONGEBOB SQUAREPANTS: The Broadway Musical.
In his hometown of Chicago, Joel was one of the first to introduce clown theater to the Chicago theater scene with his revolutionary clown company: Die Hanswurste. Their three breakout shows: KLOWN: Prick Us and We’ll Burst, HATS ON FIRE/SHOES ON FIRE, and ENTERTAINING MR. FEAR continue to influence and inspire performers and theater companies to this day.
As associate artistic director of the theater company, Parallel Exit, Joel has enjoyed three sold-out Off-Broadway runs, three Drama Desk nominations, a two-year European tour, and a successful engagement at New York’s New Victory Theater.
