With lockdowns and restrictions curbing live performance, Joel has taken to creating online specific content in the continuing pursuit of his career as an artist and performer. Since April of 2020, he has created comedy videos, live zoom performances, and experimental films furthering the development of his unique world view and style of humor.

PARALLEL EXIT’S ELEVATOR PITCH

Joel and the physical theatre company Parallel Exit has joined the world of short subject online comedy with their sketch comedy show: ELEVATOR PITCH. These non-verbal physical comedy videos appear on Facebook, Instagram, and the new streaming app Rizzle and have created an enthusiastic following. Their current season entitled “Whoopsie Daisy” focuses on every day people experiencing unexpected and absurd situations. Joel’s contribution was two short films “I think I took the dog’s medicine.” and “I don’t think Sesame Street liked by audition.” New videos are appearing daily. Check it out!

ONLINE PERFORMANCES

Through ZOOM conferencing, Joel has performed original shows and characters for a number of online clients. Mr. Joel: the Kid’s Komedian, Dr. Diabolical, Jack Frost, Old Gus Shivers, and author Charles Dickens have all made appearances in his streamed shows. Dr. Diabolical and Jack Frost appeared courtesy of Bay Plaza Mall and Stepping Stones Museum for Children. Mr. Joel presented an online comedy show entitled “The Sunday Funnies” as well as his classic half hour comedy hour through Facebook and Zoom. Old Gus Shivers lead online children through Misfortunate Manor, New York’s Smallest Haunted House; and legendary author Charles Dickens did a four performance recitation and discussion of the Christmas classic “A Christmas Carol”. More characters and shows are to follow as Joel continues to dive deep into his costume and prop closet for continued online offerings.

ViRTUAL JOEL JESKE

Since June of 2020, Joel Jeske has been a steady online presence in the world of hospital clowning, internet shows, and online instruction.. Broadcasting from his home studio and filming content in and around his Washington Heights neighborhood in New York City, Joel has taken advantage of this unique time to continue to develop his artistic vision and comedic voice.

HEALTHY HUMOR: Comedy on Call

Joel has been a member of Healthy Humor since their beginning five years ago. Continuing his work as clown doctor Dr. Yadontsay that he originated with The Big Apple Circus’s Clown Care Unit, he is currently a proud member of Healthy Humor’s Red Nose Docs and been able to continue their mission of spreading joy to pediatric patients using bold online initiatives. Comedy on Call provides a pair of clown doctors to visit patients in the hospital through a two hour Zoom conference. A member of the hospital’s child life staff take an ipad to various pediatrics areas where the children and the clown doctor’s can interact in real time.

Clown TV is a weekly half hour program that is broadcast live through close circuit television at Memorial Sloan Kettering Research Hospital. The children are able to call in and join the fun with questions, play interactive games, or just be silly with the clown doctors performing that day.

Red Nose News, Bursts of Joy, and Fun with Fools are content programs produced by the performers of Healthy Humor to increase their media presence and following. Joel can be seen as clown news anchor Chet Chatterly for Red Nose News as well as any number of Bursts of Joy in these hilarious short videos on Facebook, Instagram, and Tik Tok.
